It takes place in late July at Traditions at the Glen Resort and Conference Center, where Dan once worked as a sous chef. The 5th annual Dan Bendz Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, July 29, 2012.

Rules

Course Rules

  • All players must wear a collared shirt. No denim jeans are permitted.
  • 90 degree play will be enforced on all applicable holes. This means that all carts turning off the cart path must make a 90 degree turn onto the fairway, then make an immediate 180 degree turn back onto the cart path.
  • On all par 3 holes the cart must remain on the cart path.
  • Please replace divots, repair ball marks and rake traps.
  • No carts on tee boxes and greens. Please follow the signs on the course

Tournament Rules

  • Each team must have 4 players
  • The format of play is best shot, also called captain and crew or scramble. This means that each player on a team hits their shot and decides which one they will play. Once decided, all players drop their balls at, or around that spot and play from there. This applies to drives, fairway shots and putts. Putting will be marked by a marker (coin, tee, putting marker, etc…). The total amount of best shots to get it into the hole determines the score for that hole.
  • There is NO playing through. Everyone will end at the same time so there is no rush.
  • Be respectful of the course and their employees. Remember that this is Dan’s former employer.
  • Registration starts at 12:15 PM and ends at 12:45 PM. Participants are STRONGLY encouraged to be on-time to allow time to look at raffle prizes, practice putting, pose for a group photo, and get to your designated hole.
  • Once all teams have arrived at their designated hole they will wait for the shotgun signal to tee off. After that signal, teams will begin play.
  • The shotgun start takes place at 1:19 PM, symbolic of Dan's birthday (January 19th).
  • Be courteous and have fun!!

Shots!

Longest Drive

On one designated hole there will be a marker placed in the fairway. If you hit your drive IN THE FAIRWAY past this marker, move that marker to the spot of your ball, and write your name on the notepad. This will continue throughout the rest of the tournament, whoever has their name as the longest drive will win a prize. There will be separate contests for men and women.

Closest to the Hole

On one designated hole there will be a marker placed OFF THE GREEN, and a measuring tool along side the marker. If your shot is measured closer than the name and measurement notated on the pad, then write your name and measurement of closest to the hole on the notebook. When finished, make sure that marker is off of the green. The player who is closest to the hole at the end of the tournament will receive a prize. There will be one contest for both men and women.
